Yesterday I read in the NYT and online articles from other outlets about the firefight at the 60 Minutes corral. They didn’t come close to thorough coverage here. Fantastic! This is why you are “on fucking Substack” and I for one am excited to read your take on this shit.
I went through the firing horseshit not long ago. I was fired. 67 years old, I was fired by some thirtysomething and they told the company that I “chose” to leave. Bullshit! Not one fucking person spoke for me when it happened. And I thought, “Just wait for your turn.”
Bravo to Scott Pelley and to whomever leaked the video to Status. This is the type of confrontation of these corrupt grifters and Trump advocates or defenders of all stripes that has to happen publicly and with aggressively honest language from the interlocutor. The targets for candid and evidence-laden (it's everywhere) interrogation should include this large cadre of business executives who cowardly and with poor business acumen, believe they have no place to criticize Trump and Republicans - since most of them are Republicans, after all - because of their need to remain agnostic. Only concerned about shareholders. Until Democrats borrow too much money to help some American constituency other than big business. The ugly corrupt reasons for this deference by folks like Jamie Dimon, are that they do not want to face a lawsuit from Trump's politicized DOJ or some other adverse action from another Executive Branch agency that does Trump's slimy, mob-boss bidding.
All these assholes must be called to account for these bullshit lies and evasions and lack of accountability. Now, and with persistence and determination. On all the areas of destruction and failure that we observe with our eyes and hear with our ears on a daily basis.
And hey, everyone in the media: Keep asking why the so-called Federal investigations into the Renee Good and Alex Pretti deaths (murders, plain and simple), if they exist, have not yet produced any report and any follow-up actions (like indictments for manslaughter, at a minimum). US CITIZENS WERE MURDERED IN THE STREET, WITH VIDEO EVIDENCE. If we cannot tolerate high gas prices, we sure as hell should not tolerate agents of the Federal Government murdering people in our streets.
